Star Wars: Edge of the Empire – the Unofficial Species Menagerie 2.0

I’m fairly sure that many of you have seen, or at least heard about, the Unofficial Species Menagerie, a collaborative effort between myself and Agent 66 to provide a selection of playable species write-ups for Fantasy Flight Game’s Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beta.  We even earned a mention on GSA Briefing #3, and you can read the original article here.

Unfortunately, there were a few hiccups along the way, with some species (Gungans and Nikto) having some pretty blatant errors.  However, rather than simply make those few changes and update the link, Agent 66 and I agreed that this was a prime opportunity to expand on the original selection of species, as well as go back and tweak a few things here and there based on our better understanding of Edge of the Empire in the time since we’d first written up several of the species.

So, without any further preamble and just in time for Halloween, on behalf of myself, Agent 66, Agent 99, and a select handful of fine folks over at the FFG Edge of the Empire Beta forum, the GSA proudly presents:

Star Wars: Edge of the Empire – The Unofficial Species Menagerie 2.0

Between Agent 66 and myself, we’ve added 20 new species, including several that were requested by folks both here and on the forums at D20 Radio Network and FFG.  We’ve also ventured well outside the Rebellion Era, with additions such as Arkanian Offshoots, Caamasi, Cereans, Dashades, Herglics, and Selkath, just to name a few.

While the developers and writers over at FFG will certainly have their own spin these species, we hope that our efforts will prove a boon to both players and GMs alike, providing a much broader set of options for populating your Edge of the Empire games with the myriad of alien life that is one of the hallmarks of Star Wars.
